Plant Bearded Irises in a full sun to partial shade location in garden soil that drains well. If necessary, use a raised bed to ensure good drainage. Place the rhizomes just below the soil level in hot climates, and just above in moderate to cool climates. Water as needed to keep soil moist as the plant establishes. Plant in groups of 3, 12-24" apart for maximum effect. Grow extra for cut flowers - for best results, harvest when buds have fully emerged and are showing color.
